My Weight Loss Journal

170 pounds. Down 28 pounds.

As promised a photo of my loss. Feeling very proud. I'm still eating about 1200 calories a day and tracking on MyFitnessPal app for my Droid. I'm still walking when I can and doing light gardening. I'm noticing more often that I can't finish what I put on my plate. This is good, that means I'm developing portion control and my stomach is starting to recognize when enough is enough. Yes I still eat junk. If you didn't know I love McDonalds. I don't order fries or hash browns anymore. I go for snack wraps over burgers and I am drinking a ton of Diet Coke. I do eat healthy as well. I usually don't eat a huge breakfast like I use to. I had to erase the phrase from my thoughts 'Start your day with a healthy breakfast' and replace it with 'grab a piece of fruit when you start feeling hungry'

I have a giant bowl of fruit on my kitchen counter filled with 10 pounds of Cuties,  5 pounds organic small Gala apples, at least 10 medium sized bananas. In the fridge I keep tons of strawberries and cherries on the shelf where they are the first thing I see opening the door. Here's my tip....none of the fruit I buy gets put in a drawer or takes a lot of preparation and is small so I don't need to eat anything giant. The other phase good to erase from memory is 'clean your plate, there are starving children'.

My self image is improving. I am border line confidant to not put my big pants away in my closest for the next time I balloon up but actually donate them. With the help of my hubs and photo taking children I will be posting my exercises a few at a time I can do before I even get out of bed and loose inches in my waist.

My Weight Loss Journal

I'm a tad late in posting this but I've had one heck of a week. This news is super exciting. The Wii said OOOOH You're Normal.

To make my weight loss even better. A co-worked told me I was HIGH SCHOOL skinny. I know I'm not since I graduated at a whopping 126 pounds but it sure made me float around all week.  Oh yeah the size 10s that were cutting off circulation to my brain after an hour I have room in. Twenty four more pounds to go. I CAN DO THIS!!!!!!

My Weight Loss Journal

OK that's not a photo of me. It is my Mii on my Wii. Everyday I weigh myself on the Wii Fit. Everyday my Wii say ohh your over weight to me. Well I'm on the line now. I can't wait to her the Wii tell me your normal.

If you've been following along you know on Feb 22,2011 on my doctors scale I weighed in at 198 pounds. I was told I needed to loose weight to reduce the stress on my back. Today is Apr 28, 2011 and I am 175 pounds. I am so happy. In one pound I will have made the half way mark to my goal.

I'm still counting my calories with My Fitness Pal and I'm still having fun with it.

I'll check back in with my goals in about a week with a real ME photo.

My Weight Loss Journal

3/27/2011
Small successes keep my spirits up and my motivation strong. I weighed in at 181 today. Yay Me! This week I put a pair of size 12 jeans on and wore them comfortably all week. The rain made it impossible to work in my garden so this week I spent 20 minutes of my lunch doing laps down the long halls of my office building. I treated myself toSalt and Pepper Pop chips on Friday. I'm feeling good.

Pictures again next week.

My Weight Loss Journal

3/21/2011

I know everyone wants to loose weight. My story is this I have layers of issues in my back that cause chronic pain. I have been told if I loose weight it will help with my pain. The issues in my back may never leave me pain free but there are things I can do to lessen it. If loosing weight means that I can go to the grocery store, help at my kids sporting events, ride my bike, play at the park and go on vacations like camping and Disneyland I'm going to do it. I am still happy with My Fitness Pal app on my droid. It's easy to use. I weigh my self daily using my Wii Fit. I have a log of what I'm eating stored in the app. Even if my calories are perfect there are some foods that I choose not to eat as often because I notice I may be fluctuating my weight in the wrong direction.

With my back issues I am limited to what I can do as far as exercise. It has to be low impact and not in the sitting position. I walk and I garden, not lifting anything over 15 pounds. I also have a set of exercises I do laying down to improve my core muscle strength.

My progress is improving my self esteem and I can see the changing in the way I look. I'm not feeling pain relief yet but that takes time.

I hope my journal can help someone else who struggles with pain or weight.

So this is me today 5'10" 183 pounds.

My Fitness Pal

About a week ago my sister-in-law posted on Facebook a link for a free calorie counter. I have been trying to lose my post baby weight for over two years now. I had gone from 140 pounds to 198 pounds. Needless to say, anything to get rid of the weight at this point was welcome. After all, it's starting to feel not like post-baby weight, but just fat.

It kills me every time I see my pre-pregancy photos, or feel like people look at me like I'm lazy. I've done Weight Watchers, Slim fast, Acia Berry cleanse, worked out three times a week on the eliptical, and served as a referee for four youth soccer games a week -- and sometimes all in a single day. Still, I have been stuck at 193 pounds.

Today, I record everything I pop in my mouth on my cell phone with the My Finess Pal, the free calorie counter. So far, a week into it, it seems to be working. Two weeks ago I weighed 198 pounds at the doctors office; today I'm 188 pounds. I'm eating 1,200 calories a day. The app for my cell has a scanner that tells me how may calories and all the other goodies per serving. I can quickly add calories without a bar code. I can also record my activities and it will tell me how many calories I've burned.

Here's the best part: I've eaten chicken nuggets, French fries, tacos, pizza, and beer. OK, I also ate salads, oatmeal, and healthy food, too. I think the trick is I have a running calculator. so I can see if I can afford to eat Taco Bell or if I should go home and eat steamed veggies. I also get more calories the more activies I do. My workout has been three or four brisk walks for 10 minutes a day and gardening with my kids. I am more encouraged to do more activies the hungrier I get, and then after I've done the activity, I'm not as hungry. It's really weird.

I have a ticker at the bottom of my blog so you can see my progress. I want to lose 42 pounds, and today is March 6th. Look at it again in a week or two. If you're trying to lose weight too, chime in and tell me how you're doing -- and what you're doing!
