Father's Day

It always amazes me how Father's day poops me out like Thanksgiving or Christmas does. My kids seem to have the same excitement in giving their Dad their cards and gifts as they do waiting to open gifts under the tree. I'm not sure if it's the genuine pleasure my husband shares with them when he opens each item or the idea that they made his gift and can't wait to share there pride with him.

Today was a good Father's Day. I think Warren feels like it's Christmas too. He got up way before 7am and the kids slept in until close to 9am. Not exactly sure what he does when he gets up so early but I found written of papers and open books laying around. Being the wife of a future famous writer I feel safe assuming he was working on his novel.

After Tanner was delivered to us we choose IHOP for breakfast and ended up walking across the street to Nations hamburgers. Not so busy and they were serving breakfast and lunch. We ate up some of the greasiest grub I've had in a long time. When we got home we all napped. Yes every member of the family. That never happens. I guess that was a Happy Father's day to me as well. Yay me!

I loaded up the Minivan and we spent the afternoon at the YMCA pool. OK Warren spent the afternoon on the treadmill. This man is in shape naturally and keeps getting better looking. It's so weird to me since my body has caught up with my age. I look and feel like 40 is knocking at the door, watching every bit I eat to make sure it;s not going to add some extra somewhere on my body that will take years to get rid of if ever.

After to pool the kids played in the sprinkler while I watched my dog outside. With the addition of the chickens in the yard he can not be trusted. Marysa called around 5 and asked me to bring her Stepping Stone she made to her Dad's for her.I loaded up Tanner, Joey and Declan for the 10 mile drive. Much to my surprise Joey and Declan both fell asleep. That was nap two. I guess I really pooped them out.

Now Declan is asleep and Warren is in our room with the other kids watching the best kung fu movie of all time. The Flying Guillotine.  I'm happy today is over and was such a great day.

Happy Father's Day to all of you.

Guest Post by Daughter

Life sucks! And the thought of moving on to 5th grade isn't helping.  Luckily, I have 4 siblings that help me in different and better ways.  Joey the oldest boy helps me get down and dirty and let my creative side shine. Marysa, the oldest of all the kids, can help me with my girl problems.  Then there's Sonny, the second-to-youngest. He helps me feel responsible ('cause I watch him all the time) and that someone always loves me.  Last but not least, Declan. He teaches me how fun life can be if you just go with the flow.

When I first thought about the 5th grade, I was scared even. But then I realized I have totally Awesome brothers and sisters to help me. I love my family so much, and I hope you people out there have a family just as great as mine.

To all my lovely readers

Happy summer. I can't keep apologizing for my irregular post. My guess is most of you are enjoying summer. I have been off on disability for my back. My older kids have been out of school since last week. We joined the YMCA where I have been swimming daily or at least sitting sitting in filtered shade at the advice of my Spine Doctor. So far not much improvement but good things come to those to wait. My kids are loving it. I have been looming in the morning since I can while laying on my back. Lots of hats, baby blankets, scarves and purses to come to my Etsy shop if you want to see. Some sewing machine sewing, those projects take little longer since sitting is no fun. I am hoping to post some bags and sun hats to celebrate summer.

As far as the kids.......... Tanner, Marysa and Joey have been crafting key chains, friendship bracelets, and soap. Sonny and Declan are still going to daycare since watching them all day makes my pain increase and they have more fun with all the kids.

For your silly steak... Here are some great pics of table dancing before table dancing is not so cute.

Oh and one more thing. E-mail me your breastfeeding stories. I'd like my contributions to combat  the bad press Mama's have been getting for nursing their babies in public to be my blog All of July!!!! I'll be posting as many as I can, telling my own stories and a Shout Out/Giveaway  to a really cool Lactavist inspired shop Mama Pear Designs. I can't wait.

Thanks again for being a friend. I can't wait to hear from all of you.

Not bad if I don't say so myself

Joey loves and expects me to know everything. If there is one thing I can teach my kids is to try. Joey has pajama day at school tomorrow. He remembered me joking about being the van Trapp family when I made Marysa pillow case dress out of some old curtain panels I had. I was joking how I was going I was going to make clothes for everyone in the family and go on a singing bike ride.

As you probably can guess Joey asked me to make him pajama bottoms out of the same curtains. I have never made pants. Lots of dresses, and blankets but not even one pair of pants. I didn't even have a pattern. At least if I had a pattern then I would probably do OK.  My little boy wanted pajama bottoms, he wanted skinny cut and he wanted his Mama to make them out of that curtain.

Soooo I did. I'd have to say they look alright for no pattern or know how. Joey is beaming and understands how he needs to bring extra clothes to school just in case of a split in the duff. All is good in the Land of Super Mom and Boy Wonder.

Closing location and moving

MarysaJane.com didn't take off like I thought it would so we relocated our handmade items to Etsy.com.
